Student Affairs

Students are at the core of everything we do at UC Davis. Donors helped the Division of Student Affairs offer students holistic support, from promoting healthy living and wellness, providing opportunities for building community to launching post-graduate careers.

One example is access to food: over 44% of UC Davis students experience food insecurity. To address this challenge, Student Affairs launched the AggieEats food truck in 2023 with donor support. Believed to be the first of its kind in the nation, the initiative offers up to 500 free meals per day during the academic year. The Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center and ASUCD Pantry are other resources students can utilize for health and wellness support, free food and assistance with housing and emergency funding. Preparing Aggies to launch their career after they graduate is also a priority—our Internship and Career Center helps students leave UC Davis with a career-track job in place.

Alumni couple Joelle and Michael Hurlston’s gift to the Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center and to career development is supporting the whole student and helping them have transformative educational experiences.

Together, we are enabling students to overcome barriers and to have the support and resources they need to achieve their goals, making their experience—and our university—even greater.
